Shreveport, La. -

Caddo Parish Mosquito Control says residents could see more mosquitoes around their homes following Tropical Storm Isaac.

The agency is spraying everyday to control the mosquito population but halted trucks for two days while Isaac rolled through the area.

Officials say Isaac brought enough rain to leave small puddles in people's backyards.

"People need to go about, check, and make sure they're dumping their containers out," says Caddo Parish Mosquito Control's Brian Glascock. "Any artificial containers: tires, buckets, flower pots. Anything that can hold water for more than two days will breed mosquitos."

Other tips include using mosquito repellent and wearing long sleeves outside, especially around dawn and dusk.
