What to do when trouble knocks
Beware: You could be opening your door to trouble.
Pushy door-to-door sales people may come knocking at night with crime on their mind instead of making a deal.
Crooks could be casing your home for burglary, that's according to the Shreveport Police Department.
Authorities have not yet connected any burglaries to any complaints about door-to-door sales people but they encourage residents to report solicitors.
"Going door to door selling whatever it may be, magazines, vaccum cleaners, books, whatever the case may be, is not only against the law, city ordinance calls it a nuisance," said Sgt. Bill Goodin.
You are also urged to not to let sales representatives that you don't know inside your home.
You can contact police at (318)673-BLUE with a full description of the person and their direction of travel.
