Bossier City police arrested a Shreveport woman after she attempted to steal another woman’s purse Tuesday morning outside a local business.

It happened just before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Kroger's food store in the 800 block of Benton Road. Witnesses say 20 year-old Alicia Marie Lister tried to snatch a purse from a 28 year-old woman. Witnesses tell police that Lister approached the victim and grabbed her purse but was unable to snatch it away from her grasp. Lister then fled the scene.

One of the responding officers, who was searching the area, caught up with Lister about 10 minutes later walking in the 2000 block of Scott Street and took her into custody.

Lister was booked into the Bossier City Jail on a charge of attempted purse snatching.
The victim was not injured.
