Bossier City, LA -

A woman is recovering at LSU Medical Center after being run over by her own car.

It happened Wednesday morning in the parking lot of the Super 1 Foods grocery store on Airline Drive in Bossier City.

Bossier Police Officer Mark Natale tells KTBS 3 News that Lisa Collins Harris, 48, of Bossier City, had left her grandchildren, ages 7 and 3, in the car with it running when one of the kids accidentally shifted the car gear in reverse.

Police say Harris tried to stop the moving car by opening the driver side door. She was knocked down by the door and then the car rolled over her.

The car eventually came to a halt after being stopped by one of the cart corrals in the parking lot.

Harris was taken to LSUHSC in Shreveport with internal injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Neither of the children involved were injured.
