Woman killed in Claiborne crash

A woman involved in a two-vehicle crash this evening has died as a result of injuries sustained during the accident.
Shortly after 6 p.m. Louisiana State Police responded to a crash on LA Hwy 9 just outside the city limits of Homer. According to Troop G, while traveling north, the driver of a 2012 GMC Terrain truck failed to stop at a posted stop sign at the intersection of US Hwy 79 and La Hwy 9. As a result, the vehicle collided with a 2012 Mack tractor trailer, while traveling north bound.
The driver of the GMC was transported by Life Air to an area hospital where she later died. State Police have identified the woman as Gloria Bennett, 67, of Homer. The driver of the Mack tractor trailer was not injured.
