A Shreveport woman is nursing a gunshot wound to the leg this evening, after police say a man shot her because she refused to sit in his lap.

It happened in the 2700 block of Southern Avenue around 5:15 this morning.

Officials say a man shot 22-year-old Tequindalyn Rogers in the leg, and then left the scene.

Investigators say the suspect has been tentatively identified and they're working to obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Rogers was taken to LSU Health Shreveport to be treated for what's described as a non-life threatening injury.
