For five years, Ken and Pam Arnold were in and out of doctor's offices for a host of unexplained health problems.
After several visits, they were diagnosed as being exposed to black mold.
Their home was demolished in 2001.
"There was an air conditioner in the attic and it had been improperly installed. There was a leak that was continual and the leak was inside the walls, where we could not see it,' said Pam Arnold.
The couple moved to California in search of a drier climate and better health. However, they continued to suffer from the mold exposure for about two years.
The experience led Arnold to write a book called "Enemy Within the Walls".
Arnold hopes her experience will be an eye-opener for some readers searching for answers about their own health. "Maybe those symptoms will be in the book and they will see they're similar to what we had and then they can ask their doctor, will you test me for toxins?"
Pam Arnold will be signing copies of her book Saturday from 11am to 1pm at Tower Book shop on Line avenue. She will be at Christian Life Tapes and Books on Jewella avenue from 2pm until 4pm.
