The Highland Center held a show of tolerance and peace Sunday as the 14th World Religion Day kicked off. The event brought the faithful from nearly all aspects of beliefs together for discussion and to learn from one another. Organizers say it's important for the different groups to show harmony and understanding.

"It's very important, I think, that we recognize that we are all here together and that's the only way we're going to make it," event committee president Susan Caldwell said. "The more we know about each other, the more we understand about each other's traditions, i think, the more hope we have."

More than 20 different groups took part.
