BAFB, La. -

The first Barksdale Wounded Warrior hunt wasn't so bountiful this morning.

The 6 injured soldiers and others combed through the base's 18,000 acre reservation in search of deer.

This was the warriors' first time to leave the hospital for the great outdoors.

Organizers say the hunt provides good mental stimulus. Tracking seemed to be the most fun today.

"We didn't have any luck this morning," warrior Bo Webster said. "We didn't even see a deer. Kinda disappointing, but it's a good time."

The warriors come from around the country and most were injured in IED attacks in Iraq.
