KARNACK, Tx. -

Harrison County sheriff's officials have confirmed that a small plane went down in a wooded area in East Texas Friday night.

Officials say the aircraft went down in Karnack, TX, between FM 1793 and Highway 449.

The only person on board the twin engine prop plane was the pilot, who was reportedly killed in the crash.

Officials say the plane was en route to Brownsville, TX from Dekalb, IL.

The wreckage of the aircraft was found just outside the Caddo Lake National Wildlife Refuge.

Weather is reportedly to blame for the crash.
