A twelve year old boy who was killed in a horrific accident this week was laid to rest Saturday.
Hundreds of people including some of the Mudbugs Hockey Players attended George Cloutier's funeral at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church.
Everyone wore sports jerseys in memory of the young avid hockey player.
Some former Mudbugs even flew in from around the world to attend the funeral.
George died when he became tangled in a nylon climbing rope after climbing trees in his yard earlier this week.
He was only 12, but had big dreams that his family hopes will live on.
George Cloutier had a short but eventful life his father Chuck Cloutier said, "He had probably the best 12 years of any child I know."
The fun-loving 7th grader had dreams of starting high school hockey in Shreveport-Bossier.
His dad, Chuck says hockey was his life and "he wanted to be a Mudbug."
The young goalie played for several teams across the state and country.
He was a big fan of the Mudbugs and some became his closest friends. His father says George was a friend to everyone he met.
Cloutier also loved spending time with his family. Chuck says the two were more than just father and son they were friends.
If you wish to make a donation in George's name the family is asking you to donate to Bossier-Shreveport Youth Hockey Association at 2000 Centurytel Drive in Bossier City.
