A special boy got a special surprise today from the Southern University Jaguars, who are in town to play against Prairie View A&M.
Football players Chris Browne and Virgil Williams attended Isaiah Fortenberry's birthday party in the LSU Health Shreveport Children's Ward.
Fortenberry is suffering from an immune system disorder.
The newly turned 8-year-old hoped to attend Saturday's game as a birthday gift but fell ill.
His mother says the visit was a blessing.
"It's surreal. It's really special to know that even though they're these big rough and tough guys that they're able to take time for the little people. Because he's a lot smaller than them. They're able to take time out, and it's really such a blessing," says Chyraune Fortenberry.
The Jaguar's coach Dawson Adams also attended. Fortenberry's grandfather arranged the meeting.
