A Slidell woman has admitted to stealing close to $300,000 from her employer.
Jessie Munch, 60, said that she stole $287,000 from a New Orleans air conditioning and heating
company to feed her gambling habit and to pay bills. Yesterday she pleaded guilty yesterday to wire fraud in federal court and faces a maximum 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of probation after she is released.
She is reported to have agreed in paying back the $287,463 she took from the company. Her sentencing is next year in Februaruy.

I wish there was someone editing the online stories. The headline should be, "A Woman Stole Almost $300,000." The headline implies she stole nothing--only "almost."
