New research suggests an added benefit for women who have their stomachs stapled. Swedish researchers say not only do the women lose weight, they also may reduce their cancer risk by up to 40%. A previous study has shown that stomach stapling surgery can prolong the lives of men and women by up to 10 years compared to those who don't have it.
