He won't be satisfied until the work is done and done right. That was Shreveport mayor Cedric Glover promise to homeowners who received shoddy or incomplete neighborhood revitalization work done by city-hired contractors.
Today, some good news. Work on one of those homes is finally complete. Work at Lola Davenport's home was finished just a few days ago. It's work she's been waiting a year to finally she done, and done right.
Crews from Thomas Construction put new insulation in the attic and made repairs to the closet and the kitchen sink.
The Office of Community Developmentis now working to get a final inspection on the property. Mayor Glover calls it a big step in the right direction.
The mayor says other contractors have already been selected and are about to get to work on other homes that are in desperate need of repair.
Three former city inspectors and four independent contractors face fraud charges in the alleged corruption case.
