The Internal Revenue Service has a filed a tax lien against Mike Craig, a Bossier City attorney who is a candidate for Bossier-Webster district judge. The IRS says Craig owes them $35,384.93.

The lien was filed late last week in Bossier District Court, seeking payment for unpaid taxes for 2006.

Craig said he just found out about the lien. He said it stems from a dispute between him and the IRS over the amount of taxes he owes.

Craig said he has made agreements with the IRS to pay what he owes in installments.

Craig is involved in an acrimonious race against incumbent Judge Dewey Burchett. Burchett is hammering Craig over the tax lien and Craig is hitting Burchett over some sentences, saying Burchett is liberal and was too lenient.
