At one time doctors told him he only had two years to live. But today Doug Grant is very much alive. The husband and father is living proof that miracles do really happen.
It started off as a cough and cold, doug couldn't get rid of. But, when he went to the doctor he learned it was much more. Doug had a rare disease called interficial pulmonary fibrous. Doug had to begin relying on oxygen machines to breathe.
Last August, Doug thought his prayers had been answered. He went to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas to get a lung transplant, but the lungs weren't viable. In December, Doug got the call he'd been waiting for, and he got a double lung transplant.
Doug's now back home recovering. He's working on exercising his lower body, by walking at least a mile each day. Doug's lungs came from a 19 year old from El Paso, Texas. He's hoping he'll eventually be able to get back to work.
