Twelve day care centers in Louisiana are in danger of losing their state operating licenses, including two in Bossier City: House of Love #2 and Tender Times Inc.
Department of Social Services Secretary Kristy Nichols said the centers that the state plans to shut down failed to correct past violations. They won't be able to apply for a new license for two years.
Both day cares in Bossier City were still open today. It was not immediately known when they would lose their licenses.
The state cited deficiencies at the centers that include inadequate child-to-staff ratios, inadequate staff training or inappropriate storage of harmful substances.
Staff members contacted at both Bossier day cares declined comment Thursday morning.
The state said they plan to assess all 1,906 child care centers around Louisiana in the next year.

i think its a great thing.. my kids are in a day care for 9-10 hours a day while im at work and i would hate to think that where they spent most of their time under anothers care was unsafe and hazardous.. amen to the shut down. i mean we dont need another 2 year old roaming the streets of bossier because of lack of supervision, or a 5 year old being poisend again. safty should be the number 1 concern!
