Louisiana State Police are getting the message out: You will go to jail if you drink and drive this weekend. The Louisiana HIghway Safety Commission provides extra funds to state poice and local agencies across the state to work overtime patrols and checkpoints dedicated to DWI enforcement. In addition to highway patrol, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries agents will be out on the state's waterways searching for drunken boat drivers.
Last year's July 4th holiday in Louisiana left 618 people with crash related injuries.
