Mayor Glover applauds today's U.S. Senate confirmation of Kelvin Cochran

Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover IS APPLAUDING the Senate’s confirmation today of Shreveport native Kelvin Cochran as the Administrator of the United States Fire Administration.

Cochran will serve as the United States Fire Administrator, Federal Emergency Management Agency Department of Homeland Security and will oversee federal policy, legislation, training and education of all of the nation’s fire departments.

Cochran takes to the White House twenty-eight years of extensive experience in fire service including firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, public education, research and development, personnel management and administration, with a specialization in training and strategic planning.

Most recently, Chief Cochran served as Fire Chief for the City of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, overseeing thirty-five fire stations and providing fire, rescue and emergency medical services.
