Tuesday morning around 3:00 am, Troop G Trooper Brandon Salmon rescued two fisherman from Lake Claiborne in Homer.

Salmons parents, who live near the lake, heard calls of distress coming from the water and called their son who lives nearby. Salmon went out in his own boat and rescued the stranded fishermen.

The fishermen's boat had sunk and the near freezing water left one of them unresponsive. They were sharing a life jacket to stay afloat when Salmon found them.
