He is one of Shreveport's most beloved pastors. He just turned 80 years old. For 50 years, Bill Stowell at Emmanuel Baptist Church has not just been talking about the love of Christ, he's been living it.

Excellent feature on Bill Stowell. Rick captured the essence of who he is in a brief story. Great job Rick and thank you.

Great story. Bill is my wife's uncle. We serve as missionaries to Ecuador. We are all proud of Uncle Bill. Thanks for your many years of faithful service to our Lord.

My husband Mike and I have been members of Brother Bill's church Emmanuel Baptist for over 28 years. He has been an inspiration to us and our 3 children, who are now married and sharing the love of Christ in Los Angeles, Arlington, and Atlanta, Georgia. What they learned under this pastor's guidance has given them a firm foundation for life. Thank you, Rick, for sharing this.

I was a member of Emmanual when Bro Bill and Patty arrived at Emmanual. I grew up in Emmanual. Their influence has stayed with me all these years. I also had the honor of teaching their son Pascal to fly. What an honor to know this precious family.

As a 30+ year member of Emmanuel, my family and I have loved and depended on Bro. Bill. He is a special person and truly a man of God. He has been there for us in happy times and times of trial and sadness, always with just the right message.
It was such a pleasure to serve on the 50th Anniversary committee for Bro. Bill and Patty. Nothing we did could adequately express all the thanks for the things he does for us.
