Grace Community Church continued to be one of the busier Caddo Parish voting sites Tuesday, with some voters waiting up to 90 minutes to cast a ballot.
Many voters continued to converge on the Ellerbe Road site, home to five separate precincts, as their work days ended at 5 p.m. By 6 p.m. 3,772 voters had cast ballots, making it one of the bigger election day turnouts, according to poll workers.
The good news for persistent voters: if you're in line before official closing times for polls, you can still cast your ballot.
"I'm excited that so many people turned out for the opportunity to vote! I feel so patriotic," said Waynette Ballengee. "There's not a particular local issue that's hot topic for me; the presidential election is the key item that brought me out."
