A Shreveport woman was living in terrible conditions for more than a week after a tree crashed through her home. Tonight, that home is looking a lot better.
Sandra Lafitte was all smiles when we returned to her home today. Her landlord, Keith Slaybaugh, of K&C Realty Management, showed up bright and early to begin those repairs.
Slaybaugh was miffed at KTBS 3 News because he says he and his crew attempted to begin repairs to Lafitte's home yesterday, but he says she turned them away after realizing that KTBS 3 was en-route to her house. Slaybaugh says he hadn't been given enough time to fix the house, but today, he was hard at work.
Lafitte wants to thank members of the Shreveport Fire Department for helping her clean up her home right after the storm.
