A man has died and another is in custody after a shooting at an apartment complex in southwest Shreveport.
It happened just before 3:00 this afteroon at the Villa Marquis Apartments at Jewella and Valley View.
Police say the shooter was waiting for officers with the handgun when they arrived and that he claims the victim was trying to force his way into the apartment when the shooting happened.
Police say they think the altercation was over custody of children. There were four children inside the residence.
