The tornado that caused damage in New Boston, Texas, Sunday evening was a small twister carrying winds estimated at 100- to 110 mph, the National Weather Service said today.
No one was injured when the category F1 twister hit. It destroyed an unoccupied mobile home, tore the roof off a house and caused lesser damage to four other mobile homes, the Weather Service said after doing a survey of the area.
The twister was part of a band of storms that moved across the ArkLaTex Sunday evening and night. Other areas saw high winds, lightning and heavy rains.
