There's never been a better time to be a quitter

Before lighting that next cigarette, consider this.

Smoking accounts for more than 440,000 of the more than 2.4 million deaths each year in the U.S. That's why health officials are hoping you will make November 19 your date to quit. That's when the American Cancer Society will have its annual Great American Smoke Out.

While we have all heard that cigarette smoking leads to cancer, what does it do to the heart? And what are the benefits to quitting now after smoking for decades? Cardiologist Dr. Phillip Rozeman will be participating in a live we-chat, starting at noon, to answer these questions and yours. Just click on the Healthline 3 logo and submit your question. Or give us a call at (318) 219-4569.

Healthline 3 starts at noon. We hope you'll spend lunch with the doc.
