A 2-year-old child who was staying with her grandmother while the little girl's mother was in the hospital got out of the house today and was found wandering alone on Hearne Avenue in Shreveport.
Police officers went door-to-door in the neighborhood to find who was caring for the toddler, who was not injured.
The child was returned to her grandmother, who said the little girl apparently got out of the house while she was watching other children, police said.
Child protective services is investigating the incident. No charges were filed by police.
