Charles Edward Carpenter, 72, took his Savior's hand and found peace on September 1, 2010. Charles was born on January 12, 1938 in Shreveport, LA, where he resided until moving to Georgetown, TX. He was retired from Southwestern Electric Power Co. as the area manager. He was a Baptist.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday September 4, 2010 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel in Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Kurt Harris. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery St. Vincent Ave. in Shreveport, LA. Visitation with the family will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday September 3, 2010 at the funeral home.

Preceding him in death were his father, Charles L. Carpenter; mother, Linnie Jackson Laing; stepfather, Papa Joe Laing. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Nell King Carpenter; daughter: Pamela Carpenter Raatz; son, Charles Steven Carpenter; grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan and Amy Grimsley, Amanda Carpenter Kelly, Brandon and Schuyler Carpenter and 3 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Grimsley, Jonathan Grimsley, Brandon Carpenter, Schuyler Carpenter, Chuck Kelly and Tony Taylor
