Ed Walsh
Ed co-anchors KTBS 3 First News and KPXJ CW 21 News at 7:00. Then, he hits the streets covering the political news of the day.
Since arriving in Shreveport in 2002, Ed has covered a number of stories that grabbed the attention of the world. Ed spent days in East Texas after the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion. He reported from the farm fields, filled with shuttle debris. He was also in the New Orleans area when Hurricane Katrina came ashore. And just a month later, he was in Lake Charles when Hurricane Rita hit the coast. Most recently, Ed was in Baton Rouge for Hurricane Gustav. Ed's biggest story so far has been the strangest. It was the birth of baby Tracey at Chimp Haven. That story went global, showing up in newspapers as far away as Pakistan.
Ed is no stranger to Louisiana. Before joining KTBS 3, he worked at WGNO-TV in New Orleans and KNOE-TV in Monroe. It was in Monroe where Ed first met Sonja Bailes, his current co-anchor. Ed also worked for WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, Maine. He is from the Boston area, where his parents and brother still live.
