T.K. Fleming No Longer Playing For Benton Tigers
POSTED: 9:27 pm CDT August 9, 2010UPDATED: 11:14 pm CDT August 9, 2010Benton Tigers head coach, Caleb Guidry told KTBS Monday afternoon that he did not kick T.K. Fleming off the team. He said Fleming did it to himself by violating one team rule, four different times.Fleming, a two-sport standout in football and track, was arrested for the fourth time in the last six months when he was charged with theft last Thursday. As of Monday night, Fleming remained in the Bossier Parish jail under $5,000 bond. Fleming's transgressions reportedly include contributing to a minor, battery, DUI and now theft.Several high-profile schools had been hot on Fleming's trail, with LSU among the leaders for his services until the most recent arrests. According to rivals.com, Fleming had scholarship offers from: LSU, UCLA, Tennessee, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Mississippi State, Louisville, Louisiana Tech, NSU, Grambling and Cornell.Fleming participated in LSU's elite prospects camp in mid-July, turning in an impressive vertical leap of 39.5 inches. He also stated, in an interview with rivals.com, that he and Les Miles had a nice visit with the Tigers coach officially offering him a scholarship. No word on whether that offer is still on the table for a young man who has made four wrong turns in 2010 straight into a dead end to his high school football career.
