Former Evangel and LSU quarterback, Josh Booty has settled a lawsuit against the Orange County Sheriff's Office for $8,619. Booty was allegedly tased by sheriff's deputies while they were booking him for drunken driving in February, 2008.

A Sheriff's spokesman said the settlement amount was less than a nuisance lawsuit settlement and the reason they decided to settle is because, "It would have been irresponsible to go to trial with that low of an offer to settle."

Josh Booty spent three years as a backup quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. His younger brother, John David Booty is a quarterback in training camp with the Houston Texans.
