When the LHSAA Convention convenes January 25th, a major alteration to the football post-season will be discussed, and perhaps, voted on.

"Proposal 18", which will break the existing five classes into two classes once the playoffs begin, "Select" and "Non-Select", is gaining traction among LHSAA members. Under the proposal private, magnet and charter schools will be placed in "Select" brackets (5A, 4A, 3A 'Select' in one bracket with 2A and 1A 'Select' schools in the other bracket) with public schools from all five classifications participating in their respective classes in the posteason.
