Former LSU football player Tyrann Mathieu announced Thursday he is entering the 2013 NFL draft.
"I want to thank LSU and the fans for all that they have done for me, but now it's time for me to move on to a next chapter and go to the NFL," Mathieu posted on his Twitter account.
The Honey Badger was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2011, but was dismissed from the team before the start of the 2012 season due to a substance abuse issue and violation of team rules.
Mathieu was arrested last month on a possession of marijuana charge along with former teammate Jordan Jefferson.
