Meteorologist Jennifer Reeves

If Jennifer Reeves seems like a familiar face on KTBS, she is! She returned to KTBS as the morning meteorologist of First News after working for WTVJ in Miami, Florida for two years. She traded in the sand and sun to be closer to family and come back to her hometown. Working in Miami was a career dream for Jennifer, covering hurricanes, as well as daily stories revolving around the South Florida spice. She has been covering hurricanes for the past six years, while working in Beaumont, Shreveport and Miami.

Jennifer graduated from Northwestern State University in Broadcast Journalism, with a minor in Spanish. She then went on to get her Meteorology and Geosciences degrees from Mississippi State University. She was just granted her American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval in July of 2008.

Jennifer has a true passion for the weather, but also for community involvement. She has been very involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and loves spending time with her little sister, Veronica. On a different note, Jennifer experienced a blood clot in her lung (pulmonary embolism) while in Miami and now spends her free time spreading awareness about the dangers of birth control and young women by speaking out nationally and writing articles for health journals. She's involved in the National Alliance for Thrombosis and Thrombophilia, an organization that deals with blood clots and raising awareness. She enjoys going to church, scuba diving, running, boating and thanks to her boyfriend, bass fishing as well as saltwater fishing. She's a thrill seeker who loves deep-diving, as well as reeling in that 80-pound sailfish.

Jennifer is happy to be home and is happy to be amongst family again.
