BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Louisiana health department says it will follow a federal judge's order and refrain from immediately penalizing doctors who are trying to comply with a new abortion law. U.S. District Judge John deGravelles issued a temporary restraining order late Sunday, blocking enforcement of a new law that took effect Monday.

MIAMI (AP) - Tropical Storm Dolly has formed off Mexico's coast over the Bay of Campeche. The storm's maximum sustained winds early Tuesday are near 45 mph with additional strengthening forecast until it makes landfall.

SORRENTO, La. (AP) - The race for Sorrento police chief is now down to two candidates. One of three candidates who qualified last week in the Nov. 4 election has withdrawn for personal reasons. C.J. Martin declined to discuss those reasons Friday. The remaining candidates are Fern Barnett and Jerry P. LeBlanc.

JENNINGS, La. (AP) - A grand jury has upgraded the charges against a Welsh, Louisiana, woman accused in the fatal shooting of one man and the injuring of another. Rosalyn Faith Breaux pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and attempted manslaughter in August. She now faces charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
