HAMMOND, Louisiana (AP) - Bryan Bennett marched his team 85 yards in six plays for the winning touchdown with 36 seconds remaining as Southeastern Louisiana came back to defeat Sam Houston State 30-29 Saturday night and win the FCS second round playoff. Southeastern Louisiana advances to play New Hampshire next week.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Jay Hook poured in 31 points on 10 of 16 shooting to pace Tulane over Jackson State 70-65 on Saturday. Tulane got 16 points from Jonathan Stark and 11 points from Louis Dabney, while Trevante Drye grabbed 10 boards.
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Andre Hollins led six Golden Gophers in double figures with 18 points as Minnesota defeated New Orleans 80-65 on Saturday afternoon. Center Mo Walker scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Minnesota.
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - Kendall Houston rushed for two short-yardage touchdowns, and South Alabama took advantage of three first half turnovers to rout Louisiana-Lafayette 30-8 Saturday night. Following a 40-yard field goal by Aleem Sunanon, South Alabama recovered a fumble on Louisiana-Lafayette's next play from scrimmage and converted it into a 1-yard score by Houston.
RUSTON, La. (AP) - Chris Anderson scored 15 points Saturday night and Louisiana Tech came from behind to beat Southern University 69-50. Raheem Appleby scored 13 points for the Bulldogs, while Tre Lynch led the Jaguars with 14 points.
