BOSSIER CITY, La. -

So who is this weeks "One Class at a Time" winner? For the answer we went to Sun City Elementary in Bossier.

That is where we found Jana Hinderberger and her kindergarten class. The Bossier teacher wrote us asking to be awarded a grant to help buy what is called an EG tool kit. The kit is a set of different shapes that will help students learn to write better. It also helps the students express what they see. For example: If you ask a student to describe what is an apple, the kit will help students realize that an apple is more than just than round object.

"This is critical skill for early development with their writing and it just helps them break things up in their mind better, "says Hinderberger.

We would like to thank our sponsors, Barksdale Federal Credit Union, Suddenlink and Christus Schumpert Group Practice Pediatric Associates.

If you are an area teacher... And would like to apply for a "One Class at a Time " grant, you can find an application here at KTBS.Com.
