FAA funding of Texarkana tower unclear

Posted: Updated:

Texarkana Airport officials say they're still waiting to hear how the measure restoring FAA funding will affect their contract control tower.

The Texarkana Regional Airport is frequently used for military readiness and regional access.

Administrators say it costs about $464,000 to operate the control tower each year.

Texarkana's control tower was set to close on June 15,but the Texas Transportation Commission approved three months of funding for their air traffic control services.
