Man charged in Bossier City's first homicide of the year

BOSSIER CITY, La. -

Bossier City police have arrested and charged a man they believe is responsible for Saturday's early-morning homicide.

Police responded to a shooting call in the 2100 block of Scott Street just after 5:30 a.m. Saturday. Officers discovered a male had been shot in the upper torso. The victim, 28 year old Cortez Brown of Bossier City, was transported to LSU Hospital in Shreveport where he later died.

Following the immediate investigation of the homicide, detectives arrested 24 year old Bradley Houston and charged him with Second Degree Murder. Houston has been booked into the Bossier City Jail with a one million dollar bond.

This is the first homicide of 2012 in Bossier City.
