Jody Lowery

From southern home cooking, to Tex-Mex, to Mardi Gras--ooooh! How I've missed you for three years!

It's so good to be back and co-anchoring KTBS 3 News at 10 with Devon Patton. You can also catch me anchoring the 9 o'clock news on KPXJ CW 21.

While I was working and playing in sunny Tampa, Florida, I was fortunate enough to be a part of a great team at Bay News 9 covering such national news stories as the Casey Anthony trial, the end of the space shuttle program with the launch of Atlantis, and the emotional Nick Schuyler story after several college and NFL players drowned in the gulf.

Not to mention, I was fortunate enough to be a part of the 2009 Super Bowl coverage on the Bay where I met some of the greatest athletes and media personalities of all time.

But there's no place like home, and when I got the call, I jumped on it.

Of course, before I left for the Sunshine State, I called Shreveport and KTBS 3 home. Originally born in Little Rock, I spent many mornings duck hunting and four wheelin' with my dad in Stuttgart. Then, I eventually ended up moving to Tennessee with my mom where I graduated from the University of Memphis with a Journalism degree.

So, all that moving around made me kind of a sports MUTT. I graduated from Memphis, but I also cheer for the LSU Tiguhs. I'm a huge Saints fan, but Tampa Bay Rays baseball and Tampa Bay Lightning hockey are also my boys. AND I also love Tim Tebow. Long story. But now the Jets are on my radar. J-E-T-S. Jets! Jets! Jets!  I think that's how it goes. I had to Google it.

Anyway, now that I'm baaaaack, I'd love to hear from you. If you've got a story idea or just want to say hello shoot me an email at jlowery@ktbs.com

Can't wait to hear from you!

Drivers would have to secure dogs riding in truck beds while on interstate highways, if the Senate agrees to a bill backed by the House. The House voted 53-34 Tuesday to pass the proposal by Republican Rep. Thomas Willmott, of Kenner. Drivers could secure dogs with a crate, leash or a ventilated bed cover, under the bill. Willmott has proposed similar bills before, but they failed to garner enough support. He says he continues to push the issue to promote humane treatment of pets and public ...
