ArkLaTex Angels: Latarice & Camedrick

Posted: Updated:

Two brothers, Latarice and Camedrick, currently live in separate foster homes but want to be under the same roof. They recently spent the day together on the hardwood with some players from the Centenary Gents basketball team.

12-year-old Latarice loves video games and hanging out with friends, but he says his favorite thing to do is basketball.

"I play my game or I go play basketball," Latarice says. "A lot of people I hang around like basketball."

Latarice wants to be an athlete but knows education is important. His favorite subject is math, and he's on the honor roll. He is shy, sweet, and thoughtful. He loves spending time with his younger brother, 8-year-old Camedrick.

He, along with Latarice, recently spent the day with the Centenary men's basketball team. Players taught the boys some drills and competed for the most freethrows made. Camedrick says basketball is his favorite sport, but he likes all kinds of physical activity.

Camedrick is an entertainer. He loves putting on a show- whether he's on the basketball court or the dance floor. He can eat jalapenos by the bowlful and says everyone complements him on his beautiful eyes.

If you're interested in adopting Latarice and Camedrick, contact the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services. That number is 318-676-7100.
