The weather outside was a steaming 90 degrees, perfect weather for a
little spring football action. And it was a free-for-all for football
fans out at Lee Hedges. Byrd's purple swarm defense was staunch against
first year Benton head coach Reynolds Moore's offense. But Mike Suggs'
Yellow Jacket offense also showed potential, straying from it's
run-and-gun style at times to show a lot of talent through the air. On
the field next to the stadium, Class 1A state runners up Haynesville
looked strong against Captain Shreve's D. Jerrell Jackson with the
handoff to Cavaontae Critton who barrels in for the touchdown. The
Golden Tors only graduated 4 from last year's team. And then Shreve's
offense showed a lot of promise against Fair Park's defense this
afternoon, finding the holes and taking advantage of that on the ground.
