City Council Considers Mall St. Vincent Tax

City Council Members are also looking at creating a one percent sales tax to benefit Mall St. Vincent. The funds would raise more than $16 million dollars for a total redesign of the mall. Supporters of the tax say it will help save the dying mall allowing it to continue to support our local economy. Those against the tax say the city should not step in and help save a private business that's going under. There was room for public comment at today's city council meeting -- but a vote on the tax increase has been postponed.
