Magnolia, Ark. -

The Banner News is reporting that an incident at a well site west of Magnolia has killed one worker and injured another.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at Reliance Well Service west of Magnolia. Derek "Bundy" Smith was reportedly working on the rig when the accident happened.

Smith, 29, of Magnolia, was pronounced dead at Magnolia Regional Medical Center Tuesday afternoon after falling from a rig earlier in the day. The name and status of another man injured is still being withheld at this time.

Plant manager Steve Miller tells KTBS 3 News that "they send their condolences to the family of the injured worker and to the family of the man who lost his life." Miller describes the town as a "close knit community."

The cause of and additional details surrounding the incident are currently under investigation.

"Bundy" Smith, a 2002 Magnolia High School graduate, is survived by his wife, Amy Smith.
