BOSSIER CITY, La. -

Investigators with the Bossier City Police and Fire Departments have arrested a man for phoning in a bomb threat Wednesday night to the offices of the University of Phoenix located at the Louisiana Boardwalk.

Tanner Jerome Raney, 34, of Bossier City was arrested Thursday afternoon on a charge of communicating of false information of planned arson following an investigation by the Bossier City Fire Department Bomb Squad and Bossier City police.

Raney, who was a student at the school, reportedly phoned in the bomb threat because he was upset over an issue he had with school staff involving financial aid.

Bossier City police and fire personnel responded to the school Wednesday night and evacuated about a dozen people while they conducted a sweep of the building. Everyone was allowed to return after emergency personnel cleared it for re-entry. No devices were located.

Raney was booked into the Bossier City Jail. Bond has not yet been set.
