Bossier Young Marines

BOSSIER PARISH, La. -

Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington is receiving more support for taking a stand against the federal government. Parents of graduates from the Parish's Young Marine program fully back the sheriff for not removing the word "God" or voluntary prayer from the program. Arza Whitton is thankful for the program and the way it has help to shape his oldest grandson. Earlier the year the sheriff was issued an ultimatum to strike the "religious undertones" from the program or lose funding. "The government seems to kind of want to push views on us it's not really the majority of the people as far as the ones that talk to me, it's not fair it's not right," Whitton said. Whitton's youngest grandson starts the program on Saturday.
