Let the Good Times Roll 2013

Posted: Updated:

Downtown Shreveport will be alive with music and art this weekend. The 27th Annual Let the Good Times Roll Festival kicked off Friday. The event is a celebration of African American music, art and food. Admission is $10 and, new this year, two stages of entertainment will be available. Organizers say the festival raises money for scholarships.

"That's what motivates us to do this festival," Fred Moss said. "The money that we raise from here might not be enough to send a kid to school, but it's enough money to help them out with their books, rent, gas or something like that. We've been doing that for over 90 years."

The festival is free for children five and under and will end on the 23rd.
