Bossier Police Investigate Tire Slashings

Posted: Updated:
BOSSIER CITY, La. -

Bossier City police are looking for the vandals who slashed dozens of tires in local neighborhoods this weekend.

The alleged crime spree happened primarily in south Bossier- including Bellaire, Savannah Place, and Golden Meadows subdivisions.

In total, 48 tires were hit on thirty vehicles and three trailers. Windows were also broken on four vehicles.

Investigators say the vandals hit sometime Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Investigators do not have an estimate on total damage, but they say the suspects will likely face felony charges.

"Usually, we've had cases like this in the past where you had maybe half a dozen [to] ten vehicles involved, but nothing of this magnitude," says BCPD Public Information Officer Mark Natale.

Natale says the vandals are likely teenagers looking to cause trouble during a slow summer break.
