Another Fort Worth officer arrested on DWI charge

Posted: Updated:

A patrolman with Fort Worth police has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, becoming the latest officer with the force charged with driving while intoxicated.

Officer Brian S. Blue was off-duty when he was involved in a traffic accident Wednesday. Blue's arrest follows two other incidents earlier this month involving Fort Worth officers: one who was arrested at a North Texas lake on a charge of boating while intoxicated and another accused of DWI after wrecking his motorcycle.

The department earlier fired a DWI enforcement officer who was arrested in January on suspicion of DWI. Other officers have faced the same charge over the last year.

Police Chief Jeffrey Halstead has said he will fire any officer determined to have been driving drunk.
